How much do I use per load?
We recommend using ⅓ cup of detergent for a medium-large sized load; however, feel free to adjust this to suit your preference!
How many loads can you get out of a full size bottle of detergent?
If you follow the recommended usage amount of ⅓ cup, you will be able to do approximately 12 loads per bottle!
Can you mix it with a free and clear detergent?
Yes, you can mix our detergent with a free and clear detergent. Doing so will make your Topanga Scents detergent bottle last longer, and it will also make the scent less intense.
Can you use the detergent on baby clothes?
For those with possible skin sensitivities, we recommend trying the detergent on an item that will not remain in contact with skin for a prolonged amount of time, such as a towel before using it on clothes.
Does it have good cleaning power?
Yes, in addition to smelling great, our detergents have great cleaning power! Customers have shared how great our detergent works on dirty work clothes and athletic gear.
Is the detergent good for sensitive skin?
For those with skin sensitivities, we recommend trying the detergent on an item that will not remain in contact with skin for a prolonged amount of time, such as a towel before using it on clothes.
Is it hypoallergenic?
Our detergent has not been tested to be classified as hypoallergenic. We have many positive testimonies from customers with skin sensitivities/allergies who are able to use our products without having skin reactions. Because everyone's skin reacts differently, if you have skin sensitivities/allergies, we recommend first washing items in our detergent that will not be worn or touch your skin for prolonged periods of time, such as towels or washcloths.
Is it free of dyes, fragrances, fillers and harmful chemicals?
Our detergent is free of dyes, optimal brighteners, fillers, and harmful chemicals! It does include perfume grade fragrance oil.
Do you have an unscented detergent?
We had an unscented line that was previously introduced as a trial product. Keep your eyes out, because it may be offered again in the future!
What are the basic ingredients?
Water, Sodium Lauryl glucosides Hydroxypropyl sulfonate, Lauramine Oxide, Decyl Glucoside, Propanediol, Sodium Chloride, Sodium hydroxide, free Amine, Citric acid, Fragrance.
Why do some of the scents have a different color than others?
Because we don’t use preservatives, optimal brighteners, or dyes, some of our scents and products may vary in color.
Does temperature change the detergent?
No, the effectiveness of the detergent is not changed by temperature.
How long does the scent last once laundered?
We have heard reviews from customers claiming the scent has lasted through an entire season! The length of time the scent will last on your clothes depends on many factors, including the scent you use, the amount of scent you use, the drying time and heat intensity when drying, etc.
Why does it separate?
Because we do not use fillers, additives or preservatives in our detergent, the ingredients may separate. We recommend gently shaking the bottle before each use.
